Seems like his mom is on board, as well....

Samantha Nash, mother of LeBryan Nash, tells me she is "very happy" about the new St. John's offer and that they "hope to visit soon."

Baylor and Oklahoma St. are on him hard.
He's like a Texan version of Lance Stephenson, minus the Zagoria puff pieces.

Yes, I've heard those two schools are on Nash like cold on ice.  I can say, I'm fairly excited about Nash, as his mother wants to set up a visit to Queens.

IMO, it bodes well for us to see his mother "very happy" about the possibilities of her son playing for the Johnnies.  I'm sure the plan is to get Nash to take an official visit to NYC.

Wow him and his mother and hopefully, bag him, afterwards.

Is he as rough around the edges as Lance or is he more refined?  I think you know what I'm getting at.

LeBryan Nash (Dallas Mustangs)- This elite wing prospect went without a field goal in the first half against The Magic, but he ignited the Mustangs second half comeback with his explosive play on the low block. There simply are not many prospects who can handle a determined Nash around the basket. He finished with 18 points.

I noticed Lavin returned to NYC from a trip out to Dallas the other day.  Nash's AAU team (Dallas Mustangs) hosted an AAU tournament out in Dallas (The Final Chapter Tournament).

Stay on him, Coach!

I know we're attempting to make up ground (I can say that for most of the kids the staff is recruiting), but I have a hunch we'll be in this top five.  Hopefully, we can have our 2K version of Ron Artest.   ;)

LeBryan Nash (Dallas/Lincoln)
2011, SF/PF, 6-7
Nash is a physical combination forward who scored inside and out, supporting Miller by scoring 17 points and grabbing nine rebounds for the USA 2011 team. Nash displayed a nice mid-range pull-up going left and finished at the rim through contact on a regular basis. He also posted up well when he had a size advantage and simply elevated over his defender with ease. He rebounded and started the break and was very active on defense, coming up with a few steals by anticipating in the passing lanes. Nash reminded us of a young Ron Artest and says he will have a top five by the end of the summer. Oklahoma State, Baylor and Texas have already made the cut for his services.

i saw him on tv when he was a sophemore and the first thing i thought of was ron artest, he had that muscular build that looked like he was on a different level..it looks like lebryon has much more athleticism though at this point
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

Nastier, but businesslike
He's easily the most talented player of any of these listed 2011 STJ recruits.
Personally, some of the schools involved and some of the other major players staying away from a player this talented raises a red flag.

LeBryan Nash, SF- Because of his strength and ability to finish in the lane, the 6-foot-7 Nash can play as sort of a Damion James type combo forward. His bread and butter, though, is quickly becoming power drives to the rim and activity on the offensive glass. Nash said he knows that his consistency/effort level is something that has been questioned and he brought the energy on Saturday and was relentless on the glass to go along with a game high 26 points.

LeBryan Nash said that he'll for sure schedule official visits to Oklahoma State and Baylor. Others he's considering are St. John's, Syracuse, Kentucky, UCLA, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. He plans to have a top five by the end of the month. ...

LeBryan Hash has been borderline dominant in Chicago. He's a man on the wing and is going at people's throats looking for the kill. ...

Per Alex Kline....  Pretty much what most of us knew.

LeBryan Nash '11, a wing from Dallas, says he will narrow his list down to five schools by the end of August.

Yes, Harkless will be there on September 2nd, Marillac.  Hopefully, someone like Sampson, Pelle, Cook or Garrett joins those guys on the visit.

I'm tempering my enthusiasm, but that particular weekend could be the day many of us have been salivating for since Lavin was hired.
